Sco, a spectroscopic binary with a pulsating primary* II. Interpretation of the line-profile variability
We analyse the complex short-term Si I I I line-profile variability of the spectroscopic binary ¡3 Cep star k Sco after orbit subtraction, before and after spectral disentangling. We refine the known oscillation frequency of the star: f 1 = 4.99922 cd-1 and detect 2 f . Variability is also found at frequencies near f ^ 4.85 c d-1 and f ^ 5.69 c d-1 or their aliases. These frequencies are not si...
متن کاملA spectroscopic study of the binary star γGem
Analysis of an extensive collection of 730 spectroscopic observations of the bright A0IV star γ Gem lead to the following conclusions: (1)A neworbital solution is presented. Some hints of a small gradual increase of the systemic velocity were found but cannot be taken as real until confirmed by continuing observations. There is still no compelling evidence of the apsidal motion, however. (2) A ...
متن کاملH α line variations in the Be star binary LSI + 61 ◦ 303
The Be star LSI +61 • 303 shows an orbital variation in the ratio of the equivalent width of the blue wing to that of the red wing of the Hα line profile. This variation is shown to be due to the obscuration caused by the post shock gas of a shock produced by the supersonic orbital motion of the secondary through the gas disk of the Be star.
متن کاملSpectroscopic study of the Herbig Be star HD 100546 ?
We present new results of a spectroscopic investigation performed for the ≈10 Myr old Herbig Be star HD 100546. The data were collected during the period from 1992 to 1995 and consist of 80 high resolution spectra for Hα, Hβ, He i 5876Å, and Na i D lines. The line profiles show rather significant variability on time scales from less than a day to months. The analysis of these data gave argument...
متن کاملA Line Profile Analysis of the Pulsating Red Giant Star
So far, solar-like oscillations have been studied using radial velocity and/or light curve variations, which reveal frequencies of the oscillation modes. Line-profile variations, however, are also a valuable diagnostic to characterise radial and non-radial oscillations, including frequencies, amplitudes, the spherical mode wavenumbers (l,m) and the stellar inclination angle. Here we present a l...
